I do have a Bialetti brand new in the box that I got at Williams Sonoma years ago, but I don't drink coffee at home, so only when I am out. Coffee without sugar is fairly healthy and I usually take my espresso drinks without sugar unless I'm drinking straight espresso. Most of the day I drink still water or sparkling water to keep myself hydrated and avoid caffeine and sugary drinks. Saturdays is usually my cheat day where I get to have whatever I want, so I will splurge on two cortados or macchiatos or whatever assuming I am actually out, but given that these are small drinks, it's still not a big deal. Pre-COVID, I'm sure I spent around $200 a month in coffee. You list Ralph's Café and then complain about the cost of espresso. Ninth St Espresso is also good, but the baristas are incredibly full of themselves. I frequent La Colombe at the Bryant Park location, but I also like the Tribeca location on Church St and the one in SoHo. At least the cortado had an adequate amount of espresso, but a little too long compared to what it should be. Got a decent cortado from Joe Coffee this morning, though the barista was curt and smug. Enjoy our new cold-press coffee and take a read through our extensive magazine selection. From choosing a house-baked blueberry muffin, to our popular egg-wraps, meals are always delicious and crafted at Newsbar. For the price, I think Joe Coffee is better. Specialties: Newsbar on University Place is a local coffee shop and cafe that proudly caters to the residents of New York. There's also one where I go out in Jersey.
I've been to Café Grumpy in Grand Central. Here are a few of my top places that have managed to not tick me off too badly yet. Espresso is too addictive and expensive for me. Pierre is talking some next level caffeine consumption. If a place does not clean the machine right it will serve bacteria.
